DHS/FEMA Announces National Level Exercise 2011 Plans

National Level Exercise 2011 (NLE 2011) is scheduled for May 2011. The Tier I exercises (formerly known as the Top Officials exercise series or TOPOFF) are conducted annually.  NLE 2011 will simulate the catastrophic nature of a major earthquake in the central United States region of the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ).

NLE 2011 activities will take place at command posts, emergency operation centers and other locations across eight states:  Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Arkansas, and Missouri.  The exercise is expected to evaluate recovery and resilience within the first 72 hours of the incident and possibly consider longer term impacts.  For more information on this exercise, please click on the link below:
