Water Security Congress Extends Abstract Deadline

AWWA has extended the deadline for submitting abstracts for the 2011 Water Security Congress to January 7, 2011 at 5:00PM Mountain Time.  The Congress is set for September 11-14 in Nashville, TN.

Kevin Morley, AWWA’s Security & Preparedness Manager, shares the following description of some of the abstract topics that the Congress hopes to receive.

“This year’s meeting at National Harbor was a great success and we look forward to getting to Nashville as originally planned.  We are always interested in utilities case studies, but this is also opportunity to profile new initiatives or existing programs at local/state/federal agencies that help advance the security and preparedness of our nation’s water sector.  This includes application of industry standards like G430 and J100, the EPA Tabletop Exercise Tool for Water Systems, WARN, protocols for securing process control systems, and advances in various supporting technologies/services.  Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions (kmorley@awwa.org or 202-628-8303) and please share this with colleagues you think may be interested.”
