U.S. EPA Invites State Drinking Water Administrators to the 2012 Water Laboratory Alliance Security Summit

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in conjunction with the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), and in collaboration with its partners in the Water Sector, is sponsoring the third Water Laboratory Alliance (WLA) Security Summit on March 22-23, 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee. The two-day Summit will actively engage a vast array of technical and leadership staff from the Water Sector, laboratory, and emergency response communities to learn about WLA program elements and practice the WLA Response Plan (WLA-RP) for water contamination incident response.

Aspects of the Summit of particular interest to state drinking water administrators include:

• Networking with participants across functional backgrounds

• Improving preparedness through collaborative response to a mock water contamination scenario

• Receiving hands-on experience with EPA security-related tools and resources

Registration is free.
