Alaska Shares Emergency Planning Toolkit

Alaska’s Department of Environmental Conservation Drinking Water Program has just released new updates for their Pubic Water System Emergency Response Planning Toolkit.  According to Tyler Fanning, the drinking water program’s security coordinator, “This latest version includes new templates, documents and other resources to help systems comply with Alaska Administrative Code 80.055 – Public Water Systems Emergency Preparedness.  More importantly it can help your water system plan for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters.”

Take a look – the tool is designed for water system owners, administrators, and operators.  To begin, just click this link  Then click “Use the ERP Toolkit Online” to access the program online. A quick description of the requirements by system type and population served, as well as templates for Vulnerability Assessments, Emergency Response Plans, and Priority Measures Plans can also be found on this page.

Alaska has done a great job in trying to help their systems be better prepared…and more resilient should the worst happen.  ASDWA very much appreciates their willingness to share these materials.
