DHS Offers Voluntary Chemical Assessment Tool (VCAT) Webinar – March 20

Our colleagues at WaterISAC have offered to share the following important information.  Please alert your water systems about this training and education opportunity.

On March 20, the DHS Office of Infrastructure Protection will host a webinar to address frequently asked questions regarding the Voluntary Chemical Assessment Tool (VCAT) and to discuss advanced VCAT operations.

VCAT is a secure, web-based application designed for use by non-regulated chemical facilities that allows owners and operators to identify their facilities’ current risk level using an all-hazards approach, and enables cost-benefit analysis by selecting the best combination of countermeasures and mitigation strategies to reduce overall risk. VCAT is managed by the Office of Infrastructure Protection’s Chemical Sector-Specific Agency (SSA) and was developed in partnership with the Infrastructure Information Collection Division.

The webinar will be held at 4 PM (eastern) on Wednesday, March 20. To register, please contact:  rpross@alionscience.com.

For more information or to learn how your facility can access the VCAT tool, contact the Chemical SSA at chemicalsector@hq.dhs.gov or visit http://vcat.anl.gov.
