EPA “Endless Storm” Tabletop Exercise Debuts March 13

EPA is sponsoring a free online table top exercise webcast, “The Endless Storm” to showcase Water Lab Alliance capabilities using a water contamination scenario.  The target audience for this event includes:  laboratories; water utilities; first responders; public information officers; and local, state, and federal agencies

This webcast is designed as a “virtual training course,” delivering a complete learning experience that includes facilitated interaction between students and instructors. The webcast will be led by two facilitators who will present background information on the Water Laboratory Alliance and a water contamination scenario to students. Participants will be presented with situations and questions stemming from the scenario that they will address based on their real-life experiences and knowledge of the Water Laboratory Alliance Response Plan (WLA-RP) and Water Security tools.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the key elements of the WLA-RP and how the plan fits into other laboratory response networks
  • Describe the roles that laboratories and others would have when they participate in a response to a water contamination event
  • Identify EPA Water Security tools
