NIST Solicits Cyber Information Based on EO 13636 and PPD-21

[Editor’s Note:  The information below comes from the DHS Sector Outreach & Programs Division within the Office of Infrastructure Protection.]

On February 12, 2013, the White House issued Executive Order 13636 on Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity (EO) and Presidential Policy Directive-21 on Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience (PPD-21).  To achieve the deliverables identified in these documents, DHS established an Integrated Task Force (ITF) to lead DHS implementation; coordinate interagency, public and private sector efforts; and to ensure effective integration and synchronization of implementation across the homeland security enterprise.

For reference, please find attached a Fact Sheet on the EO and PPD-21, describing the background and objectives of these documents.  Also attached is a Fact Sheet on the ITF, describing the various working groups under the ITF, and deliverables tasked to each.

Lastly, the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) has initiated the Request for Information (RFI) process as it works to develop the Cybersecurity Framework called for in the EO.  If you wish to participate in this process, the links are as below.
